Sinkless in the summer – kitchen renovations.

I was hoping that with summer coming, I’d be able to blog more! That hasn’t quite happened yet, but I’ll work on it.

We started our kitchen remodel on July 5th and demo-ed the kitchen. When we went to pick up our cabinets that we were supposed to be in the next day, we found out that they would not be in for another month. Lowe’s knew about this delay and failed to communicate it to us…so now we are without cabinets and a sink for a MONTH. WITH TODDLERS.

Yep, insanity. My hubs worked his way up to the store manager and told him how ridiculous this whole thing is and how inconvenient it is, especially since they were at fault. The positive – Lowe’s gave us a significant amount of our money back…but that still doesn’t fix our predicament. So we are currently washing our dishes outside with a hose, eating and as much paper cutlery as we can, and simply making it work. My house is a bit chaotic. I can’t really entertain or have company over, which is a bummer because I wanted to be able to do that more this summer.

On a brighter note, hubs and I are going away to celebrate our anniversary soon. We’re going to Washington, D.C. which I’m super excited about. We’re staying at one of the top hotels in D.C. at a great rate. We’ve been married for six years – whoooo! Most importantly – we are going BABY FREE! Even more exciting! Until next time. xoxo.

Total chaos! Washing dishes with the hose sounds dreadful!!! When is your anniversary? Ours is July 25th and we will also have been married 6 years. And our twins are the same age- geez! Enjoy that trip. And beautiful magazine cover!!

Oh my goodness. You poor thing! I don’t know how I’d function without a sink! We survived with varying appliances for a month when we moved but it’s easier to go without an oven than a sink.
Enjoy your trip! We’re going to San Francisco in September and even though it’s a work trip for J, I’m calling it our early anniversary trip (10 years next May but we can’t afford a big trip then).

Heck yeah call it an anniversary trip! That sounds amazing! Would SO love to go to California with the husband! Or even with the boys when they’re a bit older! Enjoy your time! Yeah being sink less has been insane. Lots of frozen dinners or things we can grill. I don’t want the cleanup of big dishes without a sink, ya know! It will be worth it when my cabinets are in! But I’m still mad at Lowe’s!
